My Struggle With Bad Well Water
Back in 2015, I stumbled upon this fantastic piece of property. It had space for my four-legged friends (read: horses), was close to all the things I love, and had well water that made my taste buds go on strike.
So, what's the logical thing to do? Call up a big-name company, right? They came in, evaluated my well water, and dropped a bomb of a quote that almost made me faint. The price they wanted for a whole-house water filter could've funded a luxury vacation. And guess what? They couldn't even promise to wave a magic wand and make the rust and iron disappear.
Now, here's where the chemistry nerd in me and my hubby, the ultimate fixer-upper, decided to roll up our sleeves. We put on our thinking caps, mixed a bit of science with some good ol' elbow grease, and voila! We invented a DIY Home Water Filter that delivers water as clean and healthy as those expensive commercial systems.
No more cringe-worthy bathroom fixtures, dirty and crusty dishes fresh out of the dishwasher, laundry mishaps that leave you seeing red (literally), crusty and dirty or dry skin and hair that feel like they've seen better days. And say goodbye to the water heater that went from hero to zero thanks to our rusty water.
